Lesson Level : 8
Swing Vault
lesson
The Lesson
Very similar to a hands-only TicTac, the swing vault moves the vaulting wall from being perpendicular to parallel.
Perform three swing-vaults on a hip-height or greater wall or rail. You must demonstrate both sides.
The swing vault starts with a side-vault that is then caught into the hands-only TicTac.
The simplest setup for this can be a public bike-rack with two railings.
Example:
- Stand in front of two parallel walls or railings that are slightly wider than shoulder-width.
- The second wall can the same height or higher. The first wall will be the one to vault over.
- Side-vault over the first wall to your right.
- As you are in the air, switch your right-hand onto the second wall.
- Catch your body-weight off the ground and keep the momentum swinging around the left arm.
- Keeping your legs tucked, rotate around the left arm and pass back over the front wall.
- Let go of the back wall with the right hand.
- Land on the ground with both feet facing away from the walls.
