Lesson Level : 7
Push-Back
lesson

The Lesson

The push-back is performed standing between two rails or walls. You use the wall in-front of you to push backwards over the wall behind you.

Demonstrate the push-back over hip-height or higher rails or walls that are greater than three steps apart. Public bike-racks are a good location for this vault.

Example.

  1. Stand between two railings facing one and with your back to the other.
  2. Place both hands on top of the rail in front.
  3. Box-jump upwards and at the peak of the jump, push your hands on the railing.
  4. As your arms push you backwards, extend your legs and enter a pike position.
  5. Passing over the railing behind you, you can let go of the railing.
  6. As you descend, switch your grip onto the railing you are going over.
  7. Land two feet standing.

Your legs or body must not touch the back railing or wall - only your hands can.

Repeat three times.
