LondonParkour Delivers High-Energy Workshops at the Sandringham Flower Show

On the last Wednesday in July, amidst the vibrant blooms and historic splendor of the Sandringham Estate, LondonParkour had the incredible opportunity to introduce parkour to a whole new audience at the annual Sandringham Flower Show. This iconic event, set against the backdrop of the British royal family's private residence in Norfolk, draws nearly 20,000 visitors every year, including esteemed attendees such as His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen Consort.

This year, LondonParkour was honored to be part of this cherished tradition, bringing the art of movement to the festival with workshops designed especially for kids. Led by our talented coaches, Andy Pearson and Kevin Francomme, the workshops were a resounding success, drawing in enthusiastic children eager to learn the fundamentals of parkour.

Setting the Stage: A Dynamic Setup

For the workshops, we went all out with our equipment, transforming a section of the picturesque grounds into a bustling parkour training zone. We brought in our full scaffolding setup, vault boxes, jump blocks, and precision rails to create a versatile and challenging environment. The children, many of whom were trying parkour for the first time, were able to practice a variety of techniques, from vaults and balance exercises to precision jumps and safe landings.

The kids quickly embraced the challenges, showing remarkable enthusiasm as they navigated the setup. The energy was infectious, with laughter and cheers filling the air as participants pushed themselves to new heights (sometimes quite literally!). The smiles on their faces as they leaped over obstacles and balanced along rails were priceless.

Teaching the Essentials with a Personal Touch

Andy and Kevin, with their combined years of coaching experience, were in their element, expertly guiding the children through the basics of parkour. They emphasized safety, proper technique, and, most importantly, having fun. Both coaches made sure each child felt supported, whether they were jumping over a vault box for the first time or mastering a tricky balance sequence.

“It’s always a joy to see kids overcome their fears and discover what they’re capable of,” said Andy Pearson. “Being able to do that in such a stunning location with so much history around us was really special.”

Kevin Francomme added:

“The Sandringham Flower Show is such a unique event, and it was amazing to be a part of it. The kids were so engaged, and it was great to see them trying something new with so much enthusiasm.”

Beyond the Workshops: Celebrating Community and Creativity

The Sandringham Flower Show is known not just for its floral displays but also for the sense of community it fosters. Being part of an event that draws people from all over the UK was a fantastic experience for our team. As we wrapped up our sessions, we had countless parents express their gratitude for giving their children the chance to try something completely different and exciting.

For us at LondonParkour, this event was a beautiful reminder of how movement can bring people together. It’s not just about learning parkour skills; it’s about building confidence, fostering creativity, and encouraging a sense of play.

Looking Forward

We hope to return to the Sandringham Flower Show in the future and continue to inspire more young people to embrace the joy of movement. A big thank you to everyone who participated in our workshops and to the organizers for inviting us to be part of such a memorable day.

We can't wait to see what new adventures await LondonParkour next summer — who knows, maybe even more royal guests will join in on the fun next time!
