Step Vault 6 – Foot Trajectory
0️⃣6️⃣ Tutorial Series – Step Vault – Foot Trajectory
⠀
To minimise clipping the foot on the front edge of the wall, we over-compensate the trajectory and make sure we come DOWN onto the foot position.⠀
⠀
When students start they tend to drive the foot up towards the foot placement, barely missing the front edge by millimeters. With lower motor-control ability, the risk of clipping the foot is higher, so to mitigate this, the foot needs to raise over and above the wall, then return down to it.⠀
⠀
This also allows us more time to control the positioning of the foot and ensure we’re secure before vaulting.
