2️⃣ Tutorial Series – Landings – Focal Points
Keep your eye on a specific point of the landing. This will help to eliminate outside distractions and the peripheral vision from pulling your attention away.⠀
Practice the basics as if they’re advanced. Maintain visual contact with your mark for the entire jump.⠀
When performing maximum-ability fear-based jumps, our attention will want to move from ‘fight’ mode to ‘flight’ mode. The flight mode will use any excuse to stop you from doing the jump. By using a focal point, you’re reducing the amount of excuses your sympathetic nervous system can use.⠀
There are occasions when you also jump and ‘blackout’ for a fraction of a second as the fear goes to maximum. By having a focus point, you can negate this effect.
